NYTimes launches Spanish site

The New York Times said Monday it has launched a Spanish edition website that covers news and other stories of interest to Spanish speakers.

NYTimes.com/es, free for all readers, will contain “original journalism in Spanish” and 10 to 15 translated New York Times articles a day, it said.

Mostly tailored for mobile device users, it has “a dedicated team of journalists” based in Mexico City, it said. Other Times correspondents based in Latin America and Spanish-speaking staffers will write for the site.
