ISPs are responsible for maintaining an internet connection, supporting hardware and software, protecting from threats, and providing customer support. Common Malaysian ISPs include TMNet, TIMENet, Maxis, Celcom, Digi, Packet One, umobile, and Jaring.

• A service (an access) provider is a business/company
that provides individuals and organizations access to
the Internet free or for a monthly or yearly fee.
