I always enjoy visiting our PYMEPHARCO-STADA AG colleagues in Vietnam; every visit gives me an opportunity to celebrate those who have self-empowered themselves and taken ownership, turned challenges into opportunities and shown relentless passion for our Company and its purpose of Caring for People’s Health as a Trusted Partner. That is what I did last week in a Town Hall in Ho Chi Minh City where I had the immense pleasure to congratulate the leaders of Commercial Ops. and of Tech. Ops. who worked together as ONE STADA team to get all necessary regulatory approvals to produce and supply from Tuy Hoa, not only for the local market but also for Europe. That achievement is the result of a true #OneSTADA team effort. Very proud of these results! STADA Emerging Markets contributed strongly to this STADA Group outstanding performance, as our ambition is to outgrow the market and gain share by doing a better job than competition. We did it in 2023; we ambition to do it again in 2024.

I firmly believe that culture drives performance; that a company’s progress results directly from the organization’s purpose, vision and values being shared and lived by all colleagues. That is why it was so rewarding for me to spend three days with my STADA Emerging Markets leadership team in Dubai. During a workshop supported by Maya Mansour McCambridge and Steve Margison from Napoleon Consulting Ltd, we reflected with honesty on how we have succeeded and where we have to improve. The aim is clear: to encourage and empower each other to act as entrepreneurs led by a growth mindset. By setting priorities, and amplifying our strengths, we will elevate our leadership and ensure our Emerging Markets teams contribute even more strongly to STADA Group’s key objectives and outstanding growth journey.

We released today our Full Year 2023 results: STADA Group adj. sales increased by +14% and adj. EBITDA improved by +19%. All 3 business segments contributed to this outstanding performance: Consumer Healthcare by +17%, Generics by +6% and Specialty by +25%. Our performance continues to progress ahead of major competitors, which confirms the outstanding job done by all our STADA colleagues. Greater China was the second-biggest market in sales within STADA Emerging Markets in 2023 and strategically of course very important for our global business. We have doubled our sales in China over the last two years and are ambitious to deliver even better in the future. Our strategy is to accelerate our existing business in hospitals and pharmacies, and in parallel to increase our cross-border e-commerce activities, where we achieved already very good results. That is why I was very pleased to be accompanied by our STADA Group CEO, Peter Goldschmidt, for a visit of our team and our key business partners over the last couple of days. To acknowledge the great efforts the team has done so far, I was delighted that our CEO Peter was able to hand over in person to Haotong(Lori) Luo from our Greater China team the #entrepreneurship STADA Value Award for her outstanding contributions to our company’s growth and success journey in 2023! This award recognizes Lori’s exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and her unwavering commitment to driving forward our e-commerce business in China. Her business acumen, creativity and leadership have been instrumental in accelerating our cross-border e-commerce business, from building it from scratch two years ago to doubling in size last year. #caringforpeopleshealth #consumerhealthcare

Excellent kick-off of the year 2024 in Sydney for our STADA Australia New Zealand team. I love the energy and willingness from each member of the team to deliver great results in 2024, and to deliver on our STADA Group vision to be the partner of choice in Specialty and Consumer Healthcare while continuously outgrowing the industry in terms of growth and profitability.

Just back from Vietnam where the celebrations of the new year of the Dragon just started. For the Vietnamese people, the dragon is one of the most powerful and auspicious animal symbols. It shows unmatched strength but also success. And that’s how I felt when celebrating the new year of the Dragon with our PYMEPHARCO-STADA AG Country leaders. We now have a strong team, which, like the dragon, also shows unrivalled strength. That is exactly what Paolo Raymundo Valenzuela and his leadership team and I did this week by meeting the leaders of Zuellig Pharma, our new distribution partner in the Philippines, to strengthen our collaboration and expand the distribution of our products. As I’m heading to another country, I want to take this opportunity to thank the great work done by our STADA and Zuellig teams.
