This is a very exciting opportunity for us to advance accessibility and inclusion concerns within AI Safety frameworks. This initiative was just launched earlier today, and I am thrilled to be a part of the consortium.
My colleagues and I in the Kogod School of Business at American University are thrilled to be collaborating with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the Artificial Intelligence Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) launched today in Washington, D.C. The role of the AISIC is to develop science-based and empirically backed guidelines and standards for AI measurement and policy, laying the foundation for AI safety across the world. This will help ready the U.S. to address the capabilities of the next generation of AI models or systems, from frontier models to new applications and approaches, with appropriate risk management strategies. I will be working to include my research teams and colleagues at the AU Internet Governance Lab https://lnkd.in/gvAXaBvC and the AU Institute on Disability and Public Policy (IDPP) https://www.idppglobal.org in these activities.
