The 1st #GenerativeAI Singapore - a responsible meetup on AI - was held last Friday powered by The Commonwealth AI4Diversity ACM, Association for Computing Machinery in partnership with Oracle led by Steve Nouri Many interesting AI tech, use cases and issues were shared and discussed. Francis Han Senior Director from Oracle shared on Oracle's latest AI stack, storage and capabilities. Driving greater efficiency for businesses. Nancy Chen Generative AI Leader from A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research who shared how using AI models to learn various ways of languages are spoke and use it to support languages learning. Models learn fast and able to discern micro differences in speaking the same language. Final panel discussion with Laurence Liew Director of AI Innovation at AI Singapore and Lakshmi Venkatesh SVP, Head of Enterprise Data & Analytics Architecture at GIC who both shared: ➡️ AI is here for good and be more prevalent in society and use of way of life. Paving way to furthering #blockchain due to plagiarism. ↘️ #advertising is so disrupted as part of #marketing from how it is done to targeted.... ➡️ With expensive GPU and only a few can afford, will power in hands of lesser few? How about smaller organisations etc that can't afford do own modeling? Plugging in available of models off the shelf and using paid versions to keep a form of data control in-house. ➡️ Hallucinations and incorrect data can be generated even of guardrails are up. A human is still needed to check. 💡Lawrence shared how he used LLM to write a book, dictate by voice and get a draft in 2 months vs 5 months normal human power. The book needs to state AI-assisted vs AI-written as main contributor is him. What we can do? ⤴️ More and more amazing usage and power of AI. Embrace it to the fullest. Make it work for us human to be better but not overrun our lives. #AIforGood #AImarketing

Happy birthday to #ACMTuringAward recipient Ron Rivest! Rivest, Leonard M. Adleman, and Adi Shamir received the 2002 ACM Turing Award for their ingenious contribution to making public-key cryptography useful in practice with the RSA public key cryptosystem. The method uses two different but mathematically linked keys: one public key used to encrypt the message, and a completely different private key used to decrypt it. RSA is used in almost all internet-based commercial transactions. Without it, commercial online activities would not be as widespread as they are today. In this video, Rivest discusses his work with Adleman and Shamir as young MIT faculty members to produce the RSA public key cryptosystem: https://bit.ly/3vZYvuX
