During #AAPIHeritageMonth, AIG’s Amie Fang reflects on the importance of listening and community. As an Assistant Regional Underwriting Manager based in Los Angeles, Amie helps develop cyber and professional liability insurance programs tailored for a diverse range of clients. And a key to doing this successfully is through collaboration, Amie says: “People with different cultures, backgrounds and work experiences bring unique perspectives to the table. Listening is an important aspect of what I do at AIG because the clients and colleagues I work with bring their own points of view, which contributes to innovative and creative solutions.” Amie values open communication, and she has found a natural community at AIG that encourages this principle. Through AIG’s Asian Leadership Network Employee Resource Group, colleagues can network, share ideas, and celebrate the group’s diversity of cultures and backgrounds. “The ERG helps create a culture of inclusion for Asian Americans and their allies,” says Amie, who was born in Taiwan and grew up in New Zealand. “Ultimately, working with colleagues and clients in an inclusive culture can help us all succeed.” #AIGAllies #DEI
