In 2014, Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates, established Dubai’s smart initiative around the vision of becoming the happiest city on Earth. The goal is to implement innovative technology that will make city experiences safe, seamless, personalized and efficient while enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. In order to measure the happiness of its citizens through feedback from them, the Smart Dubai initiative utilizes a tool called Happiness Meter. Case Study – Smart Dubai Happiness Meter in Dubai, United Arab Emirates showcases the implementation of the Smart Dubai initiative and the Happiness Meter to show how digital transformation has impacted the social, economic and environmental well-being of the people living in Dubai.
