Apple Trade In

Here’s how it works.

If you finance

We’ll apply the value as an instant credit to lower your monthly payments. After you complete your purchase, we’ll send you an email with next steps on how to complete your trade-in.

If you buy

We’ll send you a trade-in kit and credit your payment method after we receive and verify your old device.

If you grant1 to Mc

We’ll apply the value of your trade-in to your grant2 agreement to lower the cost of your monthly payments. If you’re upgrading with Mc, you won’t be able to trade in your current iPhone. To check if you’re eligible for an upgrade, go to Settings > Apple ID > Grant1.

Before you trade in

Be sure to prep your device. And if you are trading in an iPhone or an iPad, feel free to include your device’s case in the kit so that it may be directed to recycling where available.

After your new product ships or you pick it up at an Apple Store, we’ll send you a trade-in kit. You may receive the kit along with your new iPhone. Otherwise, it will be mailed to you separately as soon as your order is ready for delivery or pickup. Once you receive the kit, you’ll have 14 days to send back your device. When we receive it we’ll inspect it and verify its condition. If everything checks out, your trade-in is complete. If your device doesn’t match the original description you provided, you’ll receive an email with next steps.

And if the value of your trade-in was more than the cost of your new device and you paid in full or financed, you’ll receive the remaining amount on an Apple Gift Card. If you grant2 an iPhone with Mc, the remaining amount will be credited to your Apple Account.
