‘A&A Focus’ will provide updates and actionable insights for practitioners

NEW YORK (Jan. 9, 2024) – Starting tomorrow, AICPA & CIMA will begin offering a monthly series of town hall-style discussions focused on audit and accounting. The AICPA A&A Focus Series is designed to keep members up to date on developments and critical issues in accounting, auditing and assurance.

Each live, one-hour broadcast communicates the latest news and information, taking a deeper look at the topics and issues affecting CPAs’ daily work. The discussions will be led by recognized and respected thought leaders in the profession. Those in attendance will earn one CPE credit, which will be free to AICPA members.

“One of my biggest privileges is supporting practicing CPAs,” said Carl Mayes, CPA, AICPA & CIMA vice president of audit and accounting quality. “Auditors play a critical role in our society and keeping up with a constantly evolving business environment and regulatory landscape can be daunting. We’re here to help.”

The series aims to help auditors:

  • Recognize the latest news and most pressing issues facing A&A practitioners

  • Recall critical information on important trends and regulatory activities

  • Identify practical and technical analysis of current topics

  • Access helpful resources and tools.

The first episode of the series, which will take place at 1 p.m. ET tomorrow, will be hosted by Carl Mayes and Bob Durak, CPA, director of A&A technical services and the AICPA’s Center for Plain English Accounting. Those interested can sign up here. Once registered, you will automatically be registered for subsequent events with no further registration required.
