As a group we decided to build a sextant to better understand how one works. So we ordered a cupboard sextant from an overseas company and constructed a sextant. After which we took pictures of the sextant being used by our lovely Canice ( shown below ). Subsequently we decided to reverse engineer the sextant and came up with a 1:3 scale schematics of the sextant. The jpeg files of the schematics is available on this page as well as the original schematic files made from the SolidWorks program the viewer for the SolidWorks files is available for download here.
