• State Director-Elect

The State Director-Elect works in conjunction with the State Director, during the State Director’s last term of office, in order to provide a smooth efficient transition period.

Responsible To:
State Director

Responsibilities:  

  1. Attend all State Council meetings, actively participating in Council matters.
  2. Act as backup to the State Director and preside over Council events as necessary.
  3. Promote the Council and the profession by personal appearances and speaking engagements before SHRM chapters and other organizations.
  4. Work on special assignments as directed.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by State Director.

Requirements:

  • SHRM member in good standing required.
  • Current year Council membership required.
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.

Term:
Serves a one-year term beginning with the first day of January ending the last day of December in the last year of the State Director's term of office.

Joanne Krueger, PHR is the Vice President of Human Resources, Security and Facilities for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin, Inc., a nonprofit health care provider that has been a champion of women and families since 1935. Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin is the state’s leading reproductive health care provider committed to keeping all people safe, healthy and strong through affordable health care, comprehensive and medically accurate education and advocacy. As the Vice President of Human Resources, Security and Facilities, Joanne provides overall strategic leadership, vision and direction to the agency and partners with managers and employees to achieve business results. She leads the development and implementation of human resources, policies, programs and services. Joanne provides strategic counsel to the CEO and other senior leaders and serves as an internal consultant to the agency’s management team, supervisors and employees on personnel issues that affect performance and business relationships. In addition, Joanne oversees Security, Safety and Facilities. She is a member of the organization’s Senior Management Team.

Joanne has over 20 years of human resources experience in the healthcare and consumer products industries. Before joining Planned Parenthood, Joanne enjoyed 14 great years with MillerCoors, formerly Miller Brewing Company. Joanne is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) since 1997, including two terms as President of Metro Milwaukee SHRM from 2008-2010 & most recently WI State Council SHRM District Director Southeast 2012-2014.  Joanne is also an active Executive Council Member of FUEL Milwaukee. Joanne earned her Bachelors of Science in Business Management degree from Cardinal Stritch University and is a certified Targeted Selection Administrator/Trainer from Development Dimensions International.
