Boolean Search examples

music video
Find updates that contain at least one of the two words.
+music +video
Find updates that contain both words.
+music video
Find updates that contain the word "music", but rank updates higher if they also contain "video".
+music -video
Find updates that contain the word "music" but not "video".
+music ~video
Find updates that contain the word "music", but if the update also contains the word "video", rate it lower than if update does not. This is "softer" than a search for '+music -video', for which the presence of "video" causes the update not to be returned at all.
+music +(>album <video)
Find updates that contain the words "music" and "album", or "music" and "video" (in any order), but rank "music album" higher than "music video".
music*
Find updates that contain words such as "music", "musical" or "musician".
"some words"
Find updates that contain the exact phrase "some words" (for example, updates that contain "some words of wisdom" but not "some noise words"). Note that the ‘"’ characters that enclose the phrase are operator characters that delimit the phrase. They are not the quotes that enclose the search string itself.
