Yahoo! Answers hits 200 million visitors, worldwide!

Tags: , ,

Back in October we announced that with your help, Yahoo! Answers hit the 1 billion question and answers mark. At this point, we also had a whopping 179 million users around the world.

Just when we thought our community couldn’t grow any faster, a mere two months later, we’ve hit the 200 million-worldwide visitor mark!

When you break it down, on average, that’s:

  • 350,000 new  visitors a day
  • 243 new visitors a minute

So here’s a big thanks to you, the Answers community for spreading the word about Answers, and sharing with your friends, family, and anyone you meet on the internet about what you’ve learned (and what you want to learn!) on Answers.

At this rate, we’ll hit 300 million in no time!

  4. Nothing but good news from Yahoo! Answers.
First the birthday celebrations — and now this.
I wonder which of the two makes you and YA
more proud: the 4th birthday or 200M visitors?

  8. Congrats, however, not to be a stick in the mud, but how many of these are multiple account users or spammers?

  9. Well I guess Yahoo obtained their goal – get all those people with suspended accounts to open a new account and make it seem as if there are that many users on the website. LOL, ha! ha!

Yahoo has opened my eyes to the world outside.

  12. Well, if Yahoo really wants more people then they should STOP deleting our questions and answers for no reason… We want more freedom here.

I find it really annoying when my questions or answers get deleted.

  13. Lmaoo @ Jabril

I think he is right… half of the users were probably suspended and came back with new ids, LOL

  15. Now if we subtract all of the suspended accounts from that number, the actual number of users would probably be around 500,000 users.

  16. “So here’s a big thanks to you, the Answers community for spreading the word about Answers, and sharing with your friends, family, and anyone you meet on the internet about what you’ve learned (and what you want to learn!) on Answers.”

If you really want to thank us, you would iron out the glitches that cause pages to go haywire, the draconian way trolls can rid people of their accounts for no good reasons and stop people from playing for points.

    But I appreciate the sentiment.

  19. I’m going to refrain from commenting on some of the comments that were posted prior to mine. Although I didn’t learn of the Answers community until recently I’ve used my Yahoo site for years. So, in sincerity, I say this community overall is most positive and has made a positive impact on others’ lives. With that being said, Congratulations and there are yet millions to come.

  22. I first found YA answering some guestions I had. Then I saw someone in need asking a question and I decided to join to help out recently. My favorite is regarding relationships, so for me it is about how can I help someone. Isn’t that what we need?

  37. I find that I’m getting chosen more for The Best Answer by the asker’s lately and that’s a good thing.

What I really came here to say though is how much I enjoy being able to remove as many questions from my Watch list as I want at one time now. Whereas before, we had to remove one at a time and wait for the page to refresh before removing one more and on and on and on!

This makes things so much easier for people like me who may have as many as 30 (or more) questions there at a time.

    Thanks a lot!
