JEDI-SDL Full Installer...
Hi all and in particular JEDI-SDL fans,
I know it's been ages and I keep saying that v1.0 is coming out soon ( sounding a bit like Duke Nukem Forever here ), but I finally put together an automated installer for Win32.
It can be downloaded from http://jedi-sdl.pascalgamedevelopment.com/files/JEDI-SDLFullSetup.exe for testing purposes ( it's about a 4.5MB download ). It should install the files to the specified directory, but should also update your particular version of Delphi's Libaray pat...
Hello folks. I am not sure about the right category of this topic so let admins decide where it should be...
Few days ago I was experimenting with some application which shows you what compiler an EXE file was made by. I was testing some EXEcs to check its reliability and out of curiosity I tried one of my favourite games - Astral Masters. You can imagine my surprise when the application said it was compiled by Delphi 6-7. I wrote an e-mail to the game creators and asked them if it was true and...
A brand new issue of Dev.Mag is out! Mr. William Cairns has 2.5 new articles inside plus some cool stuff on XNA and a few full-page surprises in store for the local community here.

I've been very quiet lately. I've been working on a project for the latest South African game dev Contest quietly on the side. The last few projects I have told everyone about never seemed to happen so I decided to keep this effort quiet.
Now I present to you a new game called Party Type. As promised in an article in the DevMag, this game is aimed at Girls. Not quite this current audience but I want to see if I can possibly take the game a little further after the contest is co...

As some of you might be wondering, there has been a bit of a delay in the final judging of all the entries in the competition. The reason for this is simple. We suddenly lost a judge before he was able to complete his final scores.
Why this happened remains to be seen. We do hope that Alexey is ok and that this is not the result of something bad happening. However, we must push on if we are to successfully resolve the competition's final standings.
XNA 2.0 will be out this holiday season apparently and Microsoft are holding a n XNA GameFest Conference to get developers up to speed with what new features it will have. The main addition seems to be support for networked games.
Have a look at the topics they will be covering. All looks very interesting. Remember if things don't change drastically in XNA 2.0 you will still be able to use Chrome to deploy on both Windows and Xbox 360!...
SGL Core is a Turn-based Isometric Simulation RPG engine by someone in China named LYH1. (Could be his mecha designation. ) Anyhow it's a neat little project that is made with Delphi 6 and "DelphiX D7".
This is a shareware project that has been a few years in the making by Zoltán Pércsich. He has already released a version some time ago, but has recently started working on it again.
You can purchase the full version of Silent Walk FPS Creator v1.1 for $15.00 USD. Or $19.00 for v1.1 and Pre-Order v2.0.
He is also offering to sell his source for $999.00 USD.

One of the ways that Dom and I had discussed in the recent past to help provide funding for the running of the site and future PGD events was a PayPal donations box on the front page.
PGD has in the past, and present, gotten sponsorship from a number of notable software companies for prizes for the PGD Annual competitions, and it has turned out great! But that really only covers the majority of the prizes won in a once a year competition. There are still other costs in running the site as wel...
