Fantastic trip to London this week with a meeting of branch and SIG chairs at the CQI | The Chartered Quality Institute . Some great insights through data to help us identify what our membership and profession needs from us so we can collaborate better to help. Unsurprisingly a lot of talk about how technology can help but balanced with discussions of the value of networking over a cup of coffee and how we can facilitate the basics. Then onto the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) for the GIRI (Get it Right Initiative) summer members meeting. Great to hear from several infrastructure clients (Network Rail, National Highways and HS2) on what they're doing to Get it Right. Lots of discussion on how organisations figure out how and where to start when looking to reduce errors. A key takeaway for me is with an average of 21% of all construction costs spent on error the important thing is just to start!

#DidYouKnow about quality apprenticeships? "I would say, do it. The traditional perception of an apprentice would be that it was for a young person/school leaver, but this is no longer the case," Jayne Nixon PCQI, Quality Support Manager at Unipart Rail, UK.
