SCMA’s Registrar, Shi Yan together with two SCMA panel arbitrators, Muthu Jagannath (Director at NAU Pte Ltd) and Winston Kwek (Partner at Rajah & Tann Asia) addressed a group of Singapore Logistics Association members on why arbitration would be important to logistics players. Besides explaining the features of litigation, arbitration and mediation, Muthu Jagannath and Winston Kwek shared their practical experiences as arbitrators and provided their perspectives of the best practices and guidelines pertinent to the pre and post management of a logistics dispute. We would like to thank Edwin Fong and Yicheng Lee from the SLA Secretariat for their support in organising this session for SCMA to engage with SLA members. SCMA is also grateful to our panel arbitrators (Muthu Jagannath and Winston Kwek) for contributing their invaluable time in engaging logistics companies on the subject of arbitration! #SCMA

The 5th SCMA Distinguished Speaker Series (DSS) 2024 presented us with an excellent platform to engage in discourse on alternative fuels. While methanol fires are invisible, we had illuminating conversations with key leaders and esteemed panellists 🔥 Thank you Sergio Mujica, Secretary-General of the ISO - International Organization for Standardization, for gracing our event as the Distinguished Speaker. We'd also like to extend our gratitude to Eng Dih Teo, Chief Executive Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), and Dr. Noel Hacegaba, Chief Operating Officer Port of Long Beach for the fireside chat. Provocative questions from the audience ignited lively discussions on how we should navigate the pathways towards maritime decarbonisation. We hope participants of our 5th edition of the SCMA DSS gained fresh insights and forged valuable connections with industry colleagues and stakeholders! A big thank you to our sponsors, Rajah & Tann Asia (Main Event Sponsor) and JTJB LLP (Network Sponsor), for making this event possible 🫶 Stay tuned for video highlights and don't miss future SCMA events!
