QUIC Working Group Interim Meeting - January 2019

This is the arrangements page for the QUIC Working Group's seventh Interim Face-to-Face meeting, hosted by Akamai in Tokyo, Japan.

Register

All Attendees -- remote or local -- must register.

Attendees are expected to be familiar with Working Group drafts and related issues, and to take active part in discussion. All participation takes place under the terms of the IETF NOTE WELL statement. See our contribution guidelines for more information about participating in QUIC.

If you wish to observe the meeting but not actively participate, you are strongly urged to attend remotely.

Attendees should also note the agenda, as some topics will be considered out-of-scope for this meeting.

Schedule and Agenda

We'll be meeting Wednesday to Thursday, 30-31 January 2019. Meetings will begin at 9:30am and end at approximately 5pm on each day (although we may choose to end earlier).

There will also be an interop event on 28-29 January (Monday and Tuesday).

Transportation

Tokyo is served by two major airports.

  • NRT is Narita International Airport. The quickest, easiest way to get from Narita to the meeting location is to take the Narita Express train to Tokyo Station, a one-hour trip that costs approximately ¥3,020 (¥4,000 round-trip if you buy a special ticket upon arrival).

  • HND is Haneda International Airport, which is much closer to Tokyo, but has slightly fewer international flights. There are a variety of ways to get from Haneda to the meeting location, but the most direct is to take the Keikyu-Kuko Line (which changes into the Asakusa Line) to Takaracho Station, about a 35 minute train ride.

Upon arrival, it's advisable to get a Suica or Pasmo IC card to pay for public transportation, as well as use in convenience stores and vending machines.

The closest stations to the venue are Kyobashi (Ginza Line), Takaracho (Asakusa Line), and Tokyo Station (too many to list).
