CRIDA (Centro de Referencia de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación ATM, A.I.E.) is a not-for-profit Research Entity established by ENAIRE, the Polytechnic University of Madrid "Universidad Politécnica de Madrid – UPM” and INECO. CRIDA has been created with the mission to “Perform R&D activities geared towards improving the safety, capacity, economic efficiency and the environmental performance of the Spanish Air Navigation System as part of the global network” and become both a Centre of Research Excellence and the Spanish focal point for ATM Research and Development activities, incorporating both the consolidated operational experience of ENAIRE, the research know-how of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and the flexibility and engineering know-how of INECO. CRIDA benefits from its partner’s full and active support to acquire a relevant role in the ATM R&D panorama and to become a leading edge company developing, validating and implementing high-performance, new-technology European ATM solutions. CRIDA aims to collaborate and foster ATM R&D by adding value to the ATM service provider (ENAIRE) whilst maintaining strong links with the operational reality. By doing so, CRIDA represents a solid growth platform for the development of skilled multidisciplinary researchers and high added value state-of-the-art innovation in the ATM Research field. Most of CRIDA’s full-time employees are licensed engineers. CRIDA participates in several projects sponsored by ENAIRE and EUROCONTROL as well as in the HORIZON 2020 and SESAR 2020 programmes

    The SESAR PEARL project progress meeting is taking place in Lithuania — and we’re honoured to host it. As Lithuania’s air navigation service provider, we take an active role in advancing European aviation performance. Through our participation in the SESAR Joint Undertaking — including projects such as PEARL — we demonstrate a strong commitment to operational excellence and innovation. PEARL (Performance Estimation, Assessment, Reporting and simulation) focuses on collecting, evaluating and consolidating the output of SESAR 3 projects through the lens of performance indicators, providing training and support to R&I project partners to ensure consistent application of performance measurement principles across the programme. It also supports the development of dashboards for real-time tracking of planned and actual results, contributes updates to performance assessment methodologies, and supplies SESAR 3 JU with key insights into programme progress. In the PEARL project, our team contributes as: 🔹 Task leader for Common Assumptions 🔹 Key Performance Area (KPA) Champion for the U-space domain 🔹 Point of contact for related SESAR 3 projects including EUREKA, SAFIR-READY, OPERA, SPATIO, iSNAP, DYN-MARS, and IRINA This week’s agenda includes progress updates, working sessions, and planning for the Performance Assessment and Gap Analysis (PAGAR) campaign, supporting the goals of SESAR 3 and the ambitions of the European ATM Master Plan. 🌍 #OroNavigacija #SESAR #PEARLproject #AirTrafficManagement #Uspace #AviationInnovation

    ✅Last week, we successfully completed 𝗘𝗫𝗘𝟬𝟭 of 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔 within the OperA project! ✅✨ Over several productive days, we carried out 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝗥𝗧𝗦) at CRIDA A.I.E.'s 𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, capturing both the 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 (𝗔𝗧𝗖) and 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 perspectives. 🛫 The simulations were set in the 𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮́𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮, involving 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 from both locations and a 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 👨✈️👩✈️. 📋 We’re proud to share that 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 (𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗣) were successfully validated — a key milestone for the project! 🏁 📊 Beyond measuring 𝗞𝗣𝗜𝘀, the sessions helped us collect 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, and included 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 to guide future improvements. 💬🔧 👏 Huge thanks to all teams, controllers, and the pilot who contributed to making this exercise a success! 🚀 On to the next one! #ATM #OperAProject #RTS #AirTrafficControl #Innovation #Validation #CRIDA #EUProject #Aviation

She shared insights from 𝐂𝐎𝐃𝐀 – Controller Adaptive Digital Assistant, a project that explores how AI and air traffic controllers can collaborate using adaptive automation principles.     🚀 CRIDA and ENAIRE are showcasing the PISA project at the Fly AI Forum hosted by EUROCONTROL! Come visit our stand to discover how AI is helping improve the prediction of aircraft arrival times in the terminal area, with a special focus on Miles to Touchdown (MtT). The prototype presented has already been tested in the Barcelona ACC with promising results. The PISA project (AI Prediction of Information for ANS) is an initiative by ENAIRE’s Systems Directorate and CRIDA, to explore the benefits of Artificial Intelligence in Air Navigation Services.     🚀𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝘁! ✅ 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗝𝗔𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗦 𝗗𝗿𝘆-𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 🔹#JARVIS ATC-DA for tactical recommendations for operational efficiency took a major step forward with a successful Dry-Run for the upcoming exercise in Madrid (October 2025), hosted at CRIDA A.I.E.’s premises. 🤝#ATCOs from ENAIRE joined forces with technical and validation specialists from Indra and CRIDA A.I.E., achieving results that exceeded initial goals. 🧠 The #Digital #Assistant was successfully integrated into the #iTEC platform for online recommendation of cross-sectors #DCTs in Spanish airspace, with close to real conditions and different levels of density and complexity. 🔍The dry-run focused on: ✔️ testing human-machine interactions ✔️ validity of the concept ✔️ definition of operational procedures ✔️ established a very solid foundation for the upcoming validation 🏁 These accomplishments mark a very significant milestone for the ATC Digital Assistant within the JARVIS project, funded by the SESAR Joint Undertaking.🏁 #SESAR3 #SJU #JARVIS #ATM #Aviation #DigitalAssistant

  • 🚀  Dry Run 1 of #IRINA EXE001 exercise completed at CRIDA! ⏳ From March 17 to 19, CRIDA A.I.E. hosted the Dry Run 1 of the #IRINA EXE001 exercise, with participation from CRIDA A.I.E., Indra, ENAIRE, and INECO. 🔍 Over these sessions focused, we have tested both nominal and non-nominal use cases, including scenarios such as #C2LL (loss of command and control link). 🎯 Key objectives: ✅ Refining scenarios to create conflicts that assess the effectiveness of Safety Nets (STCA, APW, and MSAW) ✅ Analyzing their response under different operational configurations and mixed traffic environments with RPAS. 🙌 A big thank you to all teams involved!
