Judith Iwu (born 27 May 1982) is a Nigerian Nollywood actress[1][2][3] who rose to fame with the hit movie House of Trouble.[4][5][6]
Early life
Judith Iwu hails from Mbaitolu local government area in Imo State. She was born in Sokoto State, Nigeria to Obioma Ononuju and Cecilia Ononuju. She attended Umudim Central School and Ihodimeze Primary School for her elementary education before proceeding to Amaimo Girls Secondary School and Atta Girls Secondary School for her secondary education in Ikeduru local government area, Imo State. After completing her secondary education, Iwu relocated to Lagos State and pursued a degree in Insurance at the University of Lagos.[5][6][7][8][9]
Career
Judith Iwu started her acting career with stage dramas in 2008, before officially joining the Nigerian Nollywood film industry in 2010. She came to limelight with her role in the 2016 movie “House of Trouble” and acted in other movies such as Priceless Woman, Nicest Gifts to Men, Evil Household, Enemies of Progress, Oga Madam, and Throne of Disaster etc.[5][10] Judith Iwu while speaking on the welfare of her colleagues said she was once a victim of poisoning while on set.[11]
Personal life
Iwu married in 1999, and had three children. She divorced her husband in 2006, due to domestic violence.[5] Iwu focused on healing and rebuilding her life through her career.[9]
Recognition
In June 2023, Judith Iwu received the prestigious International Media Personality Award by John Terence Media Limited in collaboration with International Kingdom University United States of America, recognizing Judith as a role model for aspiring artists.[5][6]
