This liaison statement notifies about the initiation of the new work item
Q.vbng-pupu-iopt “Interoperability testing suite for cloud-based control plane
and pooled user plane of virtualized broadband network gateway” in Q14/11.

During the ITU-T SG11 meeting (Geneva, 10-19 May 2023), Q14/11 (Testing of
cloud, SDN and NFV) has initiated a new work item Q.vbng-pup-iopt
“Interoperability testing suite for cloud-based control plane and pooled user
plane of virtualized broadband network gateway”.

ITU-T Q.vbng-pup-iopt aims to specify the interoperability testing suite for
cloud-based control plane and pooled user plane of vBNG (virtualized broadband
network gateway). It addresses the following subjects:

 Overview of interoperability testing of cloud-based control plane and pooled
user plane of vBNG.  Interoperability testing cases between cloud-based
control plane and pooled user plane.  Interoperability testing cases between
different pooled user planes.

The description of new work item is available in the Annex B of Q14/11 report.
