Body
Dear Colleagues,

The IEEE 802.1 Working Group and the IEEE Registration Authority Committee have
reviewed the Internet-Draft IETF RFC 7042bis, IANA Considerations and IETF
Protocol and Documentation Usage for IEEE 802 Parameters
(https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-ietf-intarea-rfc7042bis). Our
comments can be found in the attached document. In the document, mark up
comments are included, using strike-through and inserted text. There are also
comments about the content text using the PDF comment tool.

We recognize value in providing background information for the reader and
recommend that a statement be included that the reference sources are the
definitive references, e.g., IEEE Std 802, IEEE Std 802.1Q, IEEE Std 802.1AB,
and IEEE Std 802.1AC, including any approved amendments and revisions. We note
that IEEE Std 802 is currently undergoing revision and we welcome participation
in that process. We look forward to reviewing the next draft of IETF RFC7042bis.

Respectfully submitted,

Glenn Parsons
Chair, IEEE 802.1 Working Group
