FY26-30 Strategic Plan Development

The ICANN Board launched the strategic planning process for fiscal years 2026 - 2030 in September 2023. This represents a significant milestone in shaping the future of ICANN. The Board Strategic Planning Committee (BSPC) leads the strategic planning process on behalf of the Board, and ICANN org works closely with the BSPC and the Board to support this work. The outcome of this process will be a new five-year strategic plan.

A well-defined strategy is essential to effectively navigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities. Strategic Planning is not simply about setting goals, it is also about involving all relevant stakeholders in defining a roadmap that guides us towards our future. 

The Strategic Planning process will be done in four key phases:

• Environmental Scan 
• Develop Strategies
• Develop Implementation Strategies
• Public Comment and Adoption

This process is designed to be highly inclusive, emphasizing the active participation of the ICANN community, Board and org. The Board firmly believes that by pooling our wisdom and insights together we can shape a strategic plan that not only reflects our shared vision, but also drives ICANN towards a bright future.
