10) Purpose and Goals: | * We will be running a booth at the conference to showcase LACRALO and ICANN. As such, we would have many opportunities for outreach for persons stopping by the booth including distributing brochures and disseminating information about ICANN and LACRALO, as well as policy issues such as the IANA transistion. * We will be plenary speakers for 50 minutes on the topics "Transition in Internet Governance" and "At-Large and LACRALO" at the conference which would also greatly increase the visibility of ICANN and LACRALO * We have identified representatives from seven organisations that are potential At-Large Structure Candidates: - CUJAE Polytechnic José Antonio Echeverría - http://cujae.edu.cu/ - UCI University of Information Sciences: http://www.uci.cu/ - American Federation of entities of information and communication technologies: http://www.aleti.org/ - BRAZIL, National Association of organizations related to technology since 1976: http://assespro.org.br/ - Tic Community of Argentina: http://www.comunidadtic.com.ar/ - The Colombian Federation of Industry and Information Technology Software Related -FEDESOFT since 1995: http://fedesoft.org/ - Ecuadorian Association of Software: http://www.aesoft.com.ec/www/ and we will be seeking to meet with these representatives at the conference to seek their At-Large Structure applications if they are eligible. * Encourage persons to apply for ICANN Fellowship for the Dublin meeting * Locate and speak to broadcasters/journalists/bloggers at this event (http://www.felti.org/es/lista-de-candidatos) about ICANN, LACRALO and At-Large. | ||||||||||||||||||
| 11) Proposed Outcomes: | * based on discussions with 7 possible At-Large Structure candidates, having several ALS applications from the LAC region including hopefully from Cuba which has no At-Large presence in ICANN. * getting an increase in the number of fellowship applications from Cuba for the ICANN Dublin meeting based on our raising awareness about ICANN at this conference. * Having our interviews with broadcasters/journalists/bloggers at the event published to raise visibility of ICANN and LACRALO * Identify any other possible organisations from Cuba and elsewhere for becoming At-Large Structures. This will include getting contact details (names and email addresses) of persons attending the conference that are involved in organisations that could become ALSes. | ||||||||||||||||||
