EUROCONTROL's #AllTogetherNow2024 campaign to manage busy summer traffic ✈ continues! In our 3rd video we explain why delivering agreed capacity is so important in the busy summer months. For summer 2024 to go as smoothly as possible, airports, ground services and #ANSP air navigation service providers need to be ready to accommodate planned flights. Delivering on agreed capacities ensures predictability, optimises air traffic and minimises disruptions for all network actors - and is one of five priorities EUROCONTROL is encouraging aviation to focus on, as we prepare for busy summer traffic together. The other 4 priorities comprise: 🥇 Prioritising first rotation ✈ disciplined flight plan execution ⌚ Realistic schedules, including turnaround times ⛈ Reinforcing adverse weather management. Our explainer videos come as part of the EUROCONTROL Network Manager's "All Together Now 2024" campaign to manage busy summer air traffic across the European aviation network. Key #SESAR3 project IRINA is pushing forward research on the safe integration of #RPAS remotely piloted aircraft systems operations in European airspace to ensure a smooth transition between #ATM and #UTM / U-space. 🛩 #RPAS are a very specific set of unmanned aircraft which pilots remotely operate from a control station. The IRINA project, launched last summer, aims to define the necessary infrastructure and services to enable civil and military RPAS to operate in all airspace classes. The activities span over 3 years & address the operational, technical and regulatory challenges of integrating RPAS, currently restricted in segregated airspaces in Instrument Flight Rules (#IFR) classes, to fly alongside manned aviation in all airspace classes. The project brings together 10 other partners and industrial leaders, such as Thales, Thales Aerospace, Indra, Saab, Safran, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, ENAIRE, DSNA DTI ICE LFV, INECO, and CRIDA A.I.E. - thus creating a strong stakeholder network which can help ensure the best solutions and outcomes. The integration of #UAS into all airspace classes can serve as a crucial catalyst for unlocking a wide range of civil and governmental applications, and this SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking project is driving the research work to make it happen! 🎥 Curious? Dorothea also spoke about her goals of growing Brussels Airlines' profitability, with a strong focus on the airline's routes to Africa - as well as key strategic priorities such as #sustainability & technology. While decarbonising aviation is an immense task, Brussels Airlines is firmly behind its strategy to halve emissions from operations by 2030. Our 💡 Innovation Hub is teaming up with PANSA, the Polish ANSP 🇵🇱, to perform the optimised runway delivery simulation aimed at improving runway throughput at Warsaw Airport 🛫 👉 Last month, we kicked off a real-time simulation project with the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency at #EIH the EUROCONTROL Innovation Hub, to test the use of #ORD, the Optimal Runway Delivery tool, at Warsaw Airport. ✈️ Current challenges at Warsaw include: 📌 suboptimal aircraft spacing that does not adequately account for wind 📌 loss of runway capacity due to inefficient configurations 📌 difficulties in synchronising arriving and departing flights. The need for change is driven by the limitations posed by the existing capacity, particularly with hub-type traffic & safety concerns related to high-density operations – all of which are issues that can be addressed by ORD. The simulation aims to: ➡️ integrate seamlessly departures & arrivals ➡️ adjust spacing dynamically for various meteorological conditions ➡️ allow for ad hoc adjustments in spacing on the same runway. Improving awareness on the situation of #airports 🏢 ✈ in the European air traffic network with ADP & DSNA. Together with ADP and DSNA we've successfully integrated Predicted Departure/Arrival Planning Information transmissions from Paris-Orly and Paris-CDG airports into the EUROCONTROL #NM Network Manager's system. This improves the predictability of network demand, ensuring smoother operations & fewer delays. 🎯 The introduction of P-DPI messages provides valuable airport data, including #TTO target take-off times taking into account the impact of late inbound flights on next departures, as well as runway, aircraft registration & schedule details long before the turnaround process begins. General API messages provide EUROCONTROL with relevant data for arrival flights, including estimates and/or actual times of specific arrival flight milestones, runway information & arrival terminals. ✔ The successful integration of this data is another contribution to best preparing for busy summer traffic – a key priority for EUROCONTROL and outlined in our corporate #RaisingTheBar programme. The initiative is part of the iAOP-NOP integration program, fostering collaboration between the Airport Operations Plan and EUROCONTROL's Network Operations Plan.

Collaboration with our Member States is crucial when it comes to collecting #routecharges from airspace users ✈️, one of our key services to European #aviation - and innovating in this area via the "CRCO 2.0" roadmap is a central part of our corporate programme #RaisingTheBar #EUROCONTROL2030. We just welcomed the representatives of the national Route Charges Offices of our Member States at our HQ for the 19th Route Charges Office (RCO) Working Group, to give them an overview on the latest improvements to our services and tools, and to exchange on best practices & future collaboration. 👉 The group is a central pillar of our work supporting Member States & the aviation sector by collecting #routecharges which cover the cost of #ATC air traffic control for every flight ✈️ in the European air traffic network. The charges are also the main source of liquidity for #ANSPs air navigation service providers across Europe. The meeting saw excellent exchanges inter alia on: 📄 Simplified reporting on diverted flights ✔ Completeness of the monthly transmissions of flight messages 🔧 Centralised Flight Analyser (CFA) tool 💻 #ETNA & #CEFA system improvements (digital portals for States, ANSPs and airspace users) ✈ iOAT flight plan progress. We also managed to arrange a visit to our new EUROCONTROL #NMOC Network Manager Operations Centre, the core of our air traffic management network operations. #EUROCONTROL #CRCO #collaboration
