As for your comment about
com-net org---there are meanings to those TLDs. For new TLDs that refers to a
business then all .com owners should have a first right to those new business TLDs.
For a new organization TLDs then all .org customers would have a first right to
those new TLDs
We recommend that ICANN give a short period of time for all current
owners of dot com names to register their current .com names with the new TLD's that
are business related. After this short period of time period, everyone would be able
to register any names that are available. YES--there will be plenty of available
names! We are concerned for the small business owner that invested their life savings
in the marketing of their domain name. They cant afford to hire lawyers to file
TrademarksThe only way to protect them is by giving them a window of time to resister
the new TLDs that match exactly their current domain name.
